Polecat · Polecat Blur · beta

A spatial blur instrument for sound in motion.

Polecat Blur explores the territory between spatial processor and texture engine — turning source material into fields of motion, density, and depth across a surround field.

Concept

Blur, drift, and shape sound across space.

Most spatial tools work channel by channel. Polecat Blur treats the whole field as a continuous space — something you can sculpt rather than route.

Diffusion

Smear, scatter, and dissolve sources into the field. Shape the density and direction of the blur independently.

Motion

Drift sources through the surround field over time. Slow orbital movement, breathing textures, and spatial animation.

Depth

Width, Depth, and Height controls for the Global Spatial Spread — shaping the three-dimensional feel of the result.

Interface

The Surround Panner.

Features

What's inside.

The following reflects what's currently in the plugin. Final feature set to be confirmed before release.

Surround Panner

A circular spatial field display with per-channel positioning across Front, Back, Left, and Right axes.

8-channel mixer

Independent level control for each spatial channel. Per-channel positioning within the surround field.

Delay architecture

Four delay lines (A–D) with per-channel send routing and a dedicated Delay Mixer for shaping the diffusion character.

Global Spatial Spread

Width, Depth, and Height knobs that shape the overall spatial footprint of the output.

Filter

An integrated filter with multiple shape options, Frequency, and Resonance controls.

Modulators & Controllers

Dedicated tabs for modulation routing and controller assignment. Full preset system included.

Additional features — including format support, latency, and host compatibility — will be confirmed and published before public beta.

What beta means here

The core engine and interface are working and in use. We are refining the behaviour, testing across DAWs, and confirming the full feature set before publishing system requirements and release pricing.
